I’m close to done on this painting of the silos and tree under the Pratt overpass at 2nd Ave.
I’ll put it aside and reassess after focusing on the next piece . . .
Here’s the finished “Tin Roof”.
Today is 2nd Friday in the Longmont Arts District, come by my studio on the 2nd floor of Firehouse Art Center tonight to view.
On the southeast corner of 2nd and Pratt Parkway, next to the overpass.
These silos have been abandoned for many years, and are the survivors of a fire that destroyed a large building to the left of the silos. They will not survive the continuing economic boom in Longmont; another brew pub opened across the street.
Looking south from 1st Street. The roof really is not tin, but probably aluminum or steel.
Not quite finished, but closing in.
I think this is finished, aside from possibly more glazing and varnishing.
Here’s the east wall of my studio, with latest work (excepting the red pear).
Finally got back to work on this after the holiday break. I think it’s about finished. I added some turquoise glazing to water and sky. I’ll add a varnish layer after that dries.
