Above the Catrina Ball

Snapshots from Friday night at my studio above the Catrina Ball going on in the Firehouse Art Center main gallery downstairs.

Chuck bought a Winking Dog print.
Face painting was part of the party. I decided to forgo, but many painted faces appeared. Rheanna Medina and friend showed off fantastic face paint.

Rheanna is a professional model who has posed for life drawing groups I have attended. Here she is posing with 2 drawings from my sketchbooks.

Patriotic Pooch

My wife, Holly, came up with the idea of taking a month’s worth of pictures of Chester wearing different bandanas, which she’s been posting to her Facebook page.

I’ve been taking the pics, having Chester pose in the same spot every day. He’s getting great at assuming the position without much fuss. I’m impressed that I can get him to strike pretty much the same profile pose each session.

My Three Kongs

kongs

Chester reluctantly posing with 3 of his Kong toys.  The two on the left are rubber, that you can stuff with treats.  The one on the right has a small opening (on the reverse of the displayed side) that allows kibble (or anything small enough) to fall out when a dog rolls it around.

I had found the smaller 2 Kongs while cleaning . . . the small one on the left has been unseen for months.  It struck me that lining these 3 object up might be fun.  I used my new technique of positioning my iPad on the floor for the shot, then crossing my fingers.
