After choosing the best photo, I use photoshop to adjust contrast, saturation, etc. Then I print out several 8″ x 10″ copies. I draw on grid on one of the copies, then do a 16″ x 20″ drawing from the photo, which is the same size I’ll use for the painting.

It’s interesting to see the progression of a work and the thought process involved as well as the tools and techniques. It looks like you put a light blue grid on the 16″x20″ paper, is that right? Will you be discussing specifics like the type of paper, pencils, etc?
